Local IT Solution to deliver results for WA Manufacturing and Construction Company AGC

Australian company, CSG has been awarded a significant contract to overhaul the information technology systems that are the foundation for AGC, one of Western Australia’s most successful manufacturing and construction companies.

A subsidiary of AusGroup Limited operating throughout Australia and South-East Asia, the growth AGC is experiencing highlighted a need within the company to have a sophisticated IT system to support and automate processes and provide accurate information instantly.

AGC CIO David Redpath said the market in which AGC operates has changed and it was necessary to keep pace with IT solutions to continue to deliver quality results for clients.

“Today we help our clients both large and small to build, maintain and upgrade some of the world’s most challenging oil, gas and mineral resource development projects,” Mr Redpath said. “Our clients now expect a level of automation, integration of systems and timely information that provide more efficient processes.

“We are also experiencing rapid growth and saw that a sophisticated IT system could support our people by providing the right tools for the job, rather than being time consuming manual processes.” With a significant presence in Western Australia and considerable experience in the mining and
resource sector, CSG was well placed to respond to a tender with a tailor made system that would improve the strategic business processes and automate key business operations.

“The size and flexibility of CSG has allowed us to use a variety of Oracle software to build and implement a technology package that will drive growth and efficiency for AGC Industries,” Group General Manager Julie-Ann Kerin said. “We looked at everything the business needed from human resources, supply chain management and manufacturing processes through to detailed financial reporting to develop a system that will
support AGC now and well into the future,” Ms Kerin said.

“We look forward to delivering a solution that will align AGC’s IT with business needs to standardise processes and deliver improved information sharing and efficiencies of one of Western Australia’s highly successful companies.”

The tender was awarded on June 29th, with work starting in August 2011 before the system goes live by March 2012.
