CSG (ASX:CSV), announces the opening of a new office facility in South Australia creating job opportunities for IT workers in the region.
CSG has plans to grow the Norwood based office to a presence of over 100 employees in two years.
The provider of Managed and Enterprise IT Services is a key signatory to the Distributed Computing Support Services (DCSS) South Australian Government outsourcing contract, an underpinning factor in the company’s decision to develop a physical presence in the state.
“CSG is now poised to provide superior services to government agencies at a reduced cost saving South Australian tax payer dollars” says Brian Lee Group General Manager of the Managed Services Division.
The company will also be focusing on building its business in the South Australian private sector, an area it has been engaged in for some time with organisations such as BHP Billiton Olympic Dam and Mitsubishi Motors Australia.
Aggressive growth is planned for the region using locally employed skills and resources wherever possible.
South Australian ex patriate Julie-Ann Kerin, Group General Manager of the Enterprise Services Division says “South Australia has always had a great pool of capable technical talent and we’re looking forward to utilising and providing opportunity for that talent.”
“We view opening an office in South Australia as a very positive move for us. On a personal note I am also pleased to be involved in contributing to the growth of the IT sector in the state.”
CSG is one of the fastest growing Australian owned IT organizations and has posted positive revenue and growth figures despite the economic downturn unlike many of its direct competitors. In its half yearly results it reported a 36% increase in net profit after tax and a 45% increase in revenue.
“CSG continues to report positive results and is expanding at a time when many are downsizing. I believe it is testament to the quality of work we do and the commitment we have to our customers. It is fantastic to see an Australian organization competing well against the internationally owned competition particularly in a state such as South Australia” says Lee.
To manage the entry and anticipated growth in the South Australian market CSG has secured the services of John Driscoll (ex State Director of Microsoft) who will be focusing on building the CSG South Australian operation into a national centre of excellence with a focus on customer service delivery improvements and core business innovation.
Driscoll says “the opportunity for service level improvements and cost reduction of IT services has never been greater. With new technology and capabilities for management and support, core business development and rapidly emerging technologies such as Cloud Computing and Virtualisation, the notion of ‘do more with less’ is a very feasible goal for Government and Corporates alike.
“As cost pressures become more pervasive and apparent in all business areas, Governments and business both need to be more efficient and even more effective at competing in Global markets.
“Revenue sources and business opportunities will become tighter and targets for International competitors, so the increasing capability of local business to win on that stage can be driven by early adoption of newer and lower cost IT solutions”.
CSG now has offices in all major Australian markets and does work for all levels of government including Federal, State and Local.
