Consulting Services

Our aim is to bring consistency, reliability and knowledge sharing to our clients. We become a seamless extension of our clients’ internal IT capability, providing a consistent and reliable pool of resources that are not only familiar with their environment and technology set, but also bring expertise to the table to increase the knowledge of their own internal resources

In general, we meet our clients’ requirements in 3 key areas:

  • Provision of, or adherence to, delivery frameworks and project methodologies in which programs of work are delivered;

  • Provision of leadership and organisational skills in collaboration with internal staff and other partnering consultancies;

  • Provision of a ‘ready to go’, dynamic pool of resources that can add value at short notice to help our clients through project peaks.

Managed Services and Outsourcing

Bexton is capable of accommodating Outsourcing or Managed Services engagements. Bexton works with clients to identify areas of their business that may benefit from the outsourcing of a business function or defined service.

An example of this may be where there are currently a group of disparate independent contractors, or employees that lack co-ordination, cohesion, direction and efficiency.

Bexton can work with you to not only improve the services provided by that function, but to also significantly reduce the costs by improved management, efficient processes, reduced overhead, and a better coordinated group of professionals.

Bexton Green Consulting
Bexton Green Consulting

Bexton Green Consulting identifies and delivers projects that reduce an organisation's impact on the environment and have a strong return on investment. These projects form an important part of our clients' green initiatives as they strive to actively improve the sustainability of their operations.

Bexton consultants assess the energy and resource usage of our clients' operations in three key areas.

Data Centres

Data Centres can be operated more efficiently by consolidating servers and services and by introducing virtualisation. Our technology specialists can identify servers that can be used to perform more functions to make use of idle resources and by virtualising servers, which maintains logical separation between key services whilst still sharing hardware. Our database and data warehousing specialists will focus on maximising the efficient use of data storage to eliminate unnecessary redundancies.

These changes will bring costs savings in the areas of data centre real estate leasing, equipment purchasing and leasing, ongoing support and maintenance charges, electricity consumption and cooling charges.

End User Computing

End User Computing can be made more efficient by implementing power saving policies, retiring old equipment and taking advantage of thin client computing. Power saving policies when enforced correctly take advantage of the large amount of time each day desktop and notebook computers are idle. Switching off hard disks and monitors when not in use, or placing a machine in standby dramatically reduces its power consumption. Similarly, newer computers have more efficient power supplies and respond better to power saving measures, whilst also providing more computing power to the people using them.

Thin client computing is an exciting area where a server is used to provide most of the computing power, and still achieve significant reduction in net energy use per computer. As well as being far more efficient to run, thin client computers have a longer lifecycle, so PCs can be kept for four or five years which reduces the total cost of ownership compared to a standard computer lifecycle of three years.

Business Processes

Bexton's Business Analysis and Information Management consultants investigate organisations' business processes to identify where paper based and manual steps can be transferred to electronic and automated steps, particularly in the areas of Enterprise Application Integration and intranet development. These process re-engineering activities not only reduce consumption of paper, printer ink and other materials, they create a more efficient and effective operation, which frees up staff to focus on areas where they can truly add value.

Our close working relationship with Close The Loop allows us to facilitate the collection and recycling of all inkjets and laser cartridges, toner bottles, drum kits, fuser kits from any fax, photocopier or printer with zero waste to landfill.
